Another announcement from Sony’s press conference at MWC today is Xperia M2. The mid-range smartphone with Xperia Z looks and water proof features includes a 4.8-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution, an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording. Inside we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with Cortex-A7 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU. Storage options we have 8GB internal and a MicroSD slot for further expansion.

The smartphone will be running Android 4.3 Jelly bean, not the latest Android, but hardly old enough to be called old. Lastly we have 3G with HSPA and LTE, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM radio.

Availability is set for sometime in April with pricing to be announced sometime before release, but this pricing is said to be between the €200-300 mark
