Nvidia Shield Tablet announced: 8-inch 1080p display and Tegra K1 processor

The countdown timer has just reached zero and as expected Nvidia have just announced the Nvidia Shield Tablet. The new tablet is the successor to the somewhat popular portable gaming device with the same name that featured the Tegra 4 processor. The new Shield tablet however, will sport Nvidia’s latest Tegra K1 processor that uses Nvidia’s Kepler architecture.

The specs for the tablet continue on the high end with an 8-inch 1080p display. The Tablet will be running a version of Android and support all previous Shield games including Portal and Half Life 2. The tablet is available for pre-order right now with a pricing set at £239.99. There is also a new wireless controller being shipped with a price tag of £49.99.
