Review: Samsung Galaxy SIII

Now let’s take a look at some of the stand out features of the new Galaxy S3 from Samsung.

S-Voice

S-Voice is pretty much like Siri and if you don’t know what Siri is then you haven’t heard of the iPhone 4s. S-Voice is pretty much a voice assistant designed to help you perform some simple tasks using your voice. It has been seen before it other iterations that had basic control and the ability to launch programs. Much like Siri, S-Voice can answer questions, set alarms, check the weather and much more. Essentially it works nearly identical to Siri, but not as mainstream. That being sad, it will probably get more advance and have features added over the coming months.

Let’s take a quick look at S-Voice in action.

Smart Stay

Smart Stay is the answer for all those who all the long readers out there. If you are reading a book or webpage and wish for the screen not to dim or go off after a certain amount of time because you did not interact with it. Well Samsung have the solution. Smart Stay uses the sensors in the front of the device to focus on your eyes(face) and if you are looking at your Galaxy S3, then it will keep the display from dimming or turning off.

This feature actually works really well and it’s obvious that it will be used and loved my most people who get the Galaxy S3.

Pop-up Play

Pop-up Play is a new feature from Samsung that allows you to do picture in picture and by you can play a video and still navigate your device . The video can be moved around the display to access other parts. This feature is pretty useful and it’s fun to be able to watch a video while browsing the net. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the size of the display, but at the moment that isn’t possible.

Now there is an app on the Play store that gives anyone this type of feature, they also allow you to play multiple videos at the same time, but also allow you to adjust the size of the video. They also even have a browser that does the same and allows you to browse the internet through picture in picture and still navigate the phone.
