PC Mark and 3D Mark
The PC Mark 8 results show it favours actual clock speeds more so than raw performance and the 4770k pulls ahead in a lot of the tests. The 5960x still manages to outperform the 4770k on both the home and creative results with its own high clock speed.
The 3D Mark tests are just here to show how an expensive CPU really won’t make any real difference to gameplay benchmarks when using a single card, or possibly two cards, however. 3 or more GPU’s will definitely take advantage of the extra PCIe lanes and provide much better performance.
