During MWC 2016 Xiaomi unleashed the full details of their next flagship, the Mi 5. The new smartphone will offers flagship level specs with a very smooth design with curved back, and metal model.
Specs begin with a 5.15-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution. The Snapdragon 820 chipset is getting more love with the Mi 5 as well. However, clock speed is different on the three variants that will be available. The 32GB model will come with 3GB of RAM with the clock speed running at 1.8GHz. The 64GB has the same amount of RAM, but clockspeed gets bumped to 2.15GHz. Lastly the Pro model will take things to 4GB of RAM, but with the same 2.15Ghz clockspeed.
The camera is a large 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis OIS. The front facing camera is 4MP with 2µm pixel size. Other specs include 4G+, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2/LE, WiFi B/G/N/AC dual-band.
Availability for the new Mi 5 is currently set for it’s home country first in China on the 1st of March, but will quickly be available in India with other global markets expected to launch soon.
