The update to the latest OS from Redmond is now available to download and brings with it a glass full of new features and what we will all oversight fixes. We now have Motion Accents which are essentially live backgrounds to give a more dynamic feel to the Metro UI, but you can also have the same background as your desktop on Metro, which should make the transition much smoother.

The lock screen, apps list and the famous return of the start button are all present in the update. The lock screen now has the option for slideshow gallery that’s synced with your Sky drive across multiple devices. There are a lot more new features and tweaks available in the Windows 8.1 update, but that’s for your enjoyment should you choose to install it, which you can do right now with the instructions below.
