Western Digital have just announced new capacities of hard drives that will be joining the WD Red and WD Green series. Now coming in both 5TB and 6TB capacities. The new WD Red drives will now sport NASware 3.0 technology which for the WD Red series includes 8 bay NAS support. Pricing on the new WD Red capacities are set at £199.00 for the 5TB and £240 for the 6TB. No word on WD Green pricing.
Western Digital also announced a new series called WD Red Pro. The new line-up is aimed at medium to large business and also comes with the new NASware 3.0 technology which support a 16 bay NAS system on WD Red Pro drives. The new drives will come in 2,3, and 4TB capacities with pricing set at £124 for the 2TB, £149 for the 3TB, and £199 for the 4TB.
