Xperia XZ 1

It’s only been a few months since we saw the launch of the Xperia X as Sony’s latest flagship device lineup. It’s IFA week and Sony have been busy announcing the new Xperia Compact, but also their latest flagship the Xperia XZ.

The new device features a similar design to the previous Xperia X, with a more subtle/smooth curve on the back, and thankfully the return of Water/Dust resistance with IP68 rating. The display is a 5.2-inch IPS LCD with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and Gorilla Glass.

Inside we have the latest from Qualcomm with the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 2 x 2.15 GHz Kryo & 2 x 1.6 GHz Kryo quad-core processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. The phone will come with either 32 or 64GB internal storage, with expandable memory avialble via the MicroSD Slot.

Sony are also again going big with the camera and offering a 23MP sensor with new triple sensor tech loaded with Laser-AF and RGBC-IR sensors along with the imaging sensor for extremely fast and better colour accurate photos.

Lastly we have WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, 3G/4G, Fingerprint sensor, and and decent 2,900 mAh battery. The device has also moved to USB Type-C as its charging/data connector. The new Xperia XZ will arrive the 1st of October with pre-orders starting very soon.
