Seagate announce the first 1TB per patter 4TB hard drive

Seagate today have announced the words first 1TB per platter 4TB hard drive, totaling 4 platters to make nice and neat 4 TB hard drive (simple right?). The new drive offers speeds around the 145MB/S making it a decent performing piece of storage/capacity. The price tag for the drive is set at around € 180/$190. The new 1TB per platter allows for around 35 percent less energy usage due to only having four platters. The new drive should already be available in most retailers soon.
