Oculus are gearing up for the official launch of the consumer Oculus Rift While the launch isn’t until early next year, the recommended specs required for the VR headset have been shared. The below specs are for what Oculus recommend for an optimal experience.
- NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
- Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- 8GB+ RAM
- Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
- 2x USB 3.0 ports
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer
Clearly Oculus what users to have a decent setup to get the most out of the headset. Details on when exactly the Oculus Rift will launch in 2016 are yet to be announced, and the price tag has also not been shared. None the less, once things start moving they will move fast. The Oculus Rift has been in development for years now and the consumer version will benefit from all of the development since the launch.
