As most people already know Microsoft are getting ready retire Messenger. Since they now own Skype this made sense and it was known that Messenger would be retired some time in Q1. Word is that the exact date is March 15th and from then on you will no longer be able to use Windows Messenger. Skype has been tailored to accept your Messenger ID and all your contacts will be loaded onto Skype.
