Microsoft announce Lumia 950 and 950XL

Microsoft’s took to the stage to announce some new devices and among the announcements are the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950Xl flagship smartphones. As Microsoft are finally moving Windows Phone 10 into the light, their bringing some large specs to the table with the new smartphones, so let’s take a closer look at the Lumia 950 and 950XL.

Lumia 950 and 950XL

Both devices will feature some of the same specs, as the name suggest. Both devices will have 20MP sesor with triple-LED RGD layout, and 5th generation OIS.  Storage is 32GB with a MicroSD slot. Microsoft have also gone with USB Type-C connections, which will up to 5Gbps transfer speeds, and support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge.

Both devices will also have support for a new Display Dock that brings your mobile experience as close to PC as possible, thanks to Windows 10’s universal apps. The dock will include HDMI and DisplayPort Outs and 3 x USB connections. The display will be closer to a Window desktop UI. No pricing or release on the dock as been release yet.

Lumia 950

The straight up 950 will feature a 5.2-inch OLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. Inside we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexa-core processor. Pricing for the Lumia 950 is set at $549 with availability due in November.

Lumia 950XL

The bigger brother features a larger 5.7 OLED display with the same 2,560 x 1,440. We have the better Snapdragon 810 chipset with Octa-Core. The device will be available this November and will cost $649.
