Disney Research shows off new touch based interface called Touché, works on everything

Ah touchscreens, the interface of smartphones and tablets. Well Disney Research are showing off their new form of touch interface were they can not only make pretty much anything a touch based interface including doors knobs and water, but also have it respond to different touches like use one finger or two or even your entire hand. The technology works by detecting capacitive signals across multiple frequencies. This new technology called Swept Frequency Capacitive Sensing (SFCS) is what allows for detecting just exactly how objects are touched. The technology does sure look pretty interesting and we can imagine it being used in certain fields. Check out the video below to see it in action.
