The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are now official with Apple having their press conference earlier today. The latest devices from Apple will feature quad-core processor, water proof design and stereo speakers. Like always, the new devices launch next week with pre-orders starting the 9th of September.

Let’s check out the two device below.

iPhone 7

The design of the device is very similar to last years iPhone 6, but now includes an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. Also, as rumoured the device now lacks any headphone jack, with audio being handled by the lighting connector.

The phone features 4.7-inch Retina HD display with 750 x 1334 resolution and is 25-percent brighter and has wider colour gamut than last years device.

Inside we have the new A10 Fusion chip from Apple, which sports a quad-core CPU with big.LITTLE architecture and 2GB’s of RAM. The two main cores offer 40-percent more performance over the A9 chip. The new GPU has six cores and is 50-percent faster using 44-percent less power than the previous A9 chip.

The included 12MP sensor is 60-percent faster and 30-percent more efficient than previous devices, with an f/1.8 aperture. The front facing camera is 7MP and supports HD recording.

The iPhone 7 pricing starts from €779 for a 32GB, with colours including Black, Jet Black, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold. Some colours don’t come with 32/64GB models. Pre-orders start September 9th with the device arriving September 16th.

iPhone 7 Plus

The iPhone 7 Plus features most of the same spec’s as it’s smaller sibling, but does have some extra features to offer.

The design is obviously larger with the device sporting a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. Inside we have the same A10 chip with quad-core CPU-six-core GPU and 3GB’s of RAM. Also, much like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 plus only features a lighting connector with no headphone jack available.

Besides the display and overall size, another main addition is a second 12MP sensor on the back of the device. Both sensors work together to offer a sort of optical zoom with one 28mm wide lens and the other a 56mm telephoto lens. The phone can also combine shots from both sensors to give a much more shallow depth of field effect. The wide 28mm camera has a f/1.8 aperture with the telephoto lens using an f/2.8 aperture.

The iPhone 7 Plus arrives on September 16th and will be available in Black, Jet Black, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold. Pricing starts at €919 for a 32GB model  in black/silver.
