Android overtakes Symbian as world’s best-selling smartphone platform in Q4 2010

Some good news for google here, Android has past Symbian as the worlds best-selling smartphone platform for Q4 of 2010, What does this mean, Well not much to the end user but marks the milestone for Android as they are on top of the battle for the smartphone platform. As you can see they beat Nokia by 2.3% in total shipments, Now in my opinion Symbian shouldn’t even be in the race anymore, Its out dated and i know Nokia can do better then Symbian as there main OS, Which makes me hope Meego is all its going to be all it can be when launched, As it will give Nokia a fighting chance to take back the crown. Apple’s iOS will always be below the android and Nokia due to the fact they only have 4 phones in which the OS occupies, That being said that is some fantastic results for apple at 16.2%. All in all the main results is going to be more competition so hopefully this companies will start to pump out some great new features to stay ahead of the race.
