Xiaomi have just taken the vale of their latest flagship device The Mi 10 Ultra is official and the specs read like a true flagship device. The rumours leading up to this device were pretty strong and it’s clear most were spot on.
Let’s dive right in a take a look at what Xiaomis latest and greatest has to offer.
Design
The Mi 10 Ultra design on the front is aiming to be all screen , with curves everywhere to help the display peel of the edges. This is similar to passed devices including Galaxy S lineup when it started doing edge/curved displays.
The phone has an aluminium frame with Gorilla glass 5 on the front and gorilla glass 6 on the back. It’s design is very modern and matches most of the competition so it will immediately come across as very premium.
Display
The display is a 6.67 inches OLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 resolution. It sports HDR10+ support, and 120Hz refresh rate. The brightness is 800nits (HBM) and 1120nits (typ).
Inside we have the Snapdragon 865 chipset with 8GB/12GB and 16GB of RAM. Storage ranges from 128GB to 512GB UFS 3.1. There is no MicroSD card slot for expanding.
Camera
The camera tech is pretty much top of the line compared to the rest of the market. We have a quad sensor setup on the device, offering a main shooter, ultrawide, telephoto and finally periscope ultra zoom. This phone has pretty much every scenario covered.
The main shooter is a 48MP 1/1.32″ sensor with 1.2µm pixel size and 25mm lens and f/1.9 aperture. It sports OIS, Laser AF, and PDAF. The ultrawide camera is a 20 MP 1/2.8″ sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture. The telephoto shooter offers a 12MP 1/2.55″ sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture. The lens is 50mm offering a 2x optical zoom.
The last sensor on the rear is the periscope camera. It has a 48 MP 1/2.55″ sensor with 0.8µm pixel size and OIS support. The lens is 120mm and provides 5x optical zoom with 120x total zoom with digital goodness involved.
The front camera is a large 20MP 1/3.4″ sensor with 0.8µm pixel size and f/2.3 apeture. It supports 1080p@30fps and 720@120fps.
Video modes on the rear camera’s include 8K@24fps, 4K@30 and 60fps, and 1080p@30, 60, 120, , 240, and 960fps. It will also do HDR10 in certain resolutions aswell.
Battery and Charging
This feature set alone requires its own subtitle. The included battery is one of the worlds first mass produced graphene based Li-ion battery offering 4,5000mAh capacity. That alone is really interested but Xiaomi are including a whopping 120W wired charging support. This is done by offering multi-stage step-variable current control technology. The Mi 10 Ultra supports 3 charging modes: double-pump, direct and normal charging.
The 120W mode is done via two 98.5% ultra-high conversion efficiency charge pumps. This offers a huge increase in power delivery and allows the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra to charge to 41-percent in just 5 minutes and to 100-percent in 23 minutes. This feature alone makes this device stand above the competition in a huge way.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Xiaomi also added support for 50w wireless charging, again topping the competition by quite a margin. This charges the device to 100-percent in 40 minutes. For comparison, most of the competition on the market take longer for wired charging, let alone wireless charging. The device supports 10w reverse wireless charging.
Other Specifcations
Other specs for the Mi 10 Ultra include stereo speakers, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, LiquidCool 2.0 vapor chamber for cooling, IR blaster, USB Type-C, and under display finger print reader.
