HMD during MWC 2018 announced a few new devices and among them is their latest flagship device. The refresh of the Nokia 8 dubbed Sirocco Edition will feature a 5.5-inch OLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 resolution.
The design now features a curbed display that bends around the side of the device partially. Much like what we have seen from the S8 series. We also have 95-percent Gorilla Glass 5 covering the device on the front and back. We also have IP-67 dust and water resistance. Lastly we have a fingerprint sensor on the back and wireless charging.
Inside we have the Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB’s of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The camera side of things we have a Dual 12MP sensor setup with f/1.75, 1.4 µm, OIS and f/2.6, 1.0 µm. Both feature dual-phase detection, Carl Ziess optics, with secondary camera there to offer a 2x optical zoom.
The device uses USB Type-C, and that will have to handle your wired audio needs as there is no headphone back on the device. Lastly we have a 3,260 mAh battery.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco will arrive this April and will cost around €749.
