Intel typically aren’t all that present directly at GDC, but this year is different and during the event they have announced details on their upcoming CPU road map. Code-named Devil Canyon, the new Intel 4th Gen Extreme processor otherwise known as Haswell Extreme Edition will be an 8 Core/16 thread with DDR4 support. The new CPU is stated to have significant overclocking and performance enhancements due to better thermal interface and materials used.
The news doesn’t stop there , as Intel also announced a Pentium Anniversary edition to commemorate more than 20 years of the Pentium brand. This line-up will include unlocked cores and the ability to increase the core and memory frequencies independently. Intel also showcased their new AIO PC reference design dubbed Black Brook, which features integrated Intel® RealSense™ 3-D camera, a quad microphone array, premium audio and a full HD display. Lastly, Intel announced plans to bring Iris Pro graphics to the upcoming 14nm 5th generation Intel Core processor line-up code-named Broadwell.
