In a move to cover its bases, Sony has announced the Xperia Z1 Compact. The new smartphone brings most of the Xperia Z1 features that we all love and adore to a smaller sized device. The specs for the new mobile device include a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS Display with 1,280 x 720 resolution. Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2.2GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. 20.7MP camera with HDR on both pictures and videos. 16GB of storage and a MicroSD slot. The device even sports the same IP55 and IP58 dust and water proof ratings as the Z1.
So most of the device is identical to the Xperia Z1 except for the display which comes in at 4.3-inches, other differences include a 2,300mAh battery which is down from 3,000mAh, weight and dimensions come in at 137g and 127 x 64.9 x 9.5 mm which are obviously down a good bit compared to the Z1 which come in at 170g and 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm.
We have included the full specs and gallery of the new smartphone which comes in 4 different colours including Black, White, Pink, and Yellow. Launch is set for around the middle of February and price has yet to be revealed.
