The PS Vita of course includes an internet browser, so let’s jump into some screenshot of the browser. The browser does not have flash support, but that is starting to be of little issue as most sites will use HTML5 for most needs.
When launching the browser you are greeted with the usual start page and in this case it will also have your recently visited pages on the left for quick access.
The layout of the browser is pretty straight forward and fairly easy to navigate. On the right is the forward, back, tabs, search, favourite and option buttons. The top has the address bar and refresh button.
The tabbed browsing is laid out nicely and is easy to use, you can easily add or remove any tab.
The browser has a built-in native search function which uses google for search and there doesn’t appear to be a way to change it to another search provider.
The settings are very limited and provide access for just turning on or off Cookies and JavaScript and also deleted Cookies.
The only issue with the browsing is that something there might be some rendering issues when scrolling. This generally only last a second or so, but it has been noticed to happen quite a lot.
Overall the browsing experience was pretty smooth and of course it does have pinch to zoom. Pages do load in a fast enough, but compared to most Smartphones it comes be faster, again this is a feature that some will use and some will ignore but it is nice to have it at the end of the day.
So now it’s time to check out some games, the actual purpose of the PS Vita at the end of the day. So jump over to the next page to continue.
