Review: PS Vita

Straight up we look at the back of the PSP and here we notice the rear camera and touchpad. There is the access to memory card is located on the bottom left of the back of the device. The camera has a  resolution of 0.3 megapixels(640 x 480) and can record at 60 FPS. The resolution is very low, but let’s keep in mind that it’s not meant to be used a main camera by any means.

Look at the top of the area we have the power button on the left, the volume buttons on the right. Also located on each side is the left and right buttons respectively. there is two hidden areas of which one is the slot for the games and the other a proprietary connection port.

On the bottom of the device we have the another proprietary connection which is the main connection for both charging the device and connecting it to the PC, on the right of that is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The memory card slot is located direct to the right of the headphone slot.

We can see on the back of the 3G version there is a compartment for the sim card. This of course will only be present on the 3G version and the WiFi only version will have nothing there.

On the left side of the device we have the left analog stick, the d-pad and the PlayStation button and a speaker on the left side.

On the right side we have the right analog stick, square, cross, circle and triangle buttons as per usual on a PlayStation device. There is also the select and start button and of course the front facing camera which has the same resolution as the rear facing camera which is 0.3 megapixels(640 x 480) at 60 FPS.

That is it for hardware, Now we can move onto the new menu system dubbed LiveArea. so click over to the next page to continue.
