Review: HTC One X

Now it’s time for the wonderful conclusion.

Conclusion

So, we are going to take each section from the design, Sense 4.0(software), camera and performance and breakdown into individual conclusion if you will, then the award….

Design

Now, the HTC One X has a very similar design to that of the HTC One S and again it’s stunning. It a very slim uni body device with a beautiful polycarbonate housing. The 4.7 inch IPS screen is nothing short of spectacular to look at. The weight of the device is perfect and it adds to the comfortable feeling of device. It just feels right in the hand. Now there are some issue, with the lens being the focal resting point for the device when it’s laid down. Also no MicroSD slot, which means the 32GB built-in is not expandable. The only other thing is the fact the only way to wake the device is by the power button can sometimes be annoying. Overall the design is very impressive.

Software

Now because this is Android it means that if you don’t like Sense 4.0 you can easily use a different launcher, that being said Sense 4.0 is actually pretty good. It’s very smooth and the layout is actually pretty decent looking. The multitasking layout is somewhat different to that of stock Android 4.0, by that it has a more webos style switcher. Sense 4.0 is easily one of the nicest custom launchers that come with a device. The design of the entire UI is also customized like the dial pad and settings. Overall the layout is impressing performance is extremely smooth.

Camera

Now, the 8MP camera with 1080p recording. First off the layout of the camera app is just perfect. The fact you can select to start recording video or take a picture right on the same screen is amazing and HTC nailed it with that alone. Also you can even take pictures while recording video or watching back a video. The Camera app on the HTC One series is one of the best I have ever seen and we haven’t even talked about the quality yet. The pictures  and video look amazing, even in low light shots the quality comes of stunning. It is definitely one of the nicest cameras on the market today.

Performance 

Now the main different between the HTC One S and One X. The processor, the One X brings with it the Quad-Core Nvidia Tegra 3 and Geforce graphics. This not only makes the HTC One X fast, it makes it one of the fastest Smartphones on the market. It even bests the Transformer prime with the same processor which is just another tick towards the skills of HTC. The performance can easily be seen all over the device as there is no lag or slowness experienced even with a ray of apps open.

Now it’s time for the reward for the HTC One X

You should have easily guessed it GOLD GOLD GOLD. Probably the easiest award to give. The HTC One X is all around an amazing device bringing with it the top tech for not only great performance but a beautiful design and of course an amazing screen. The HTC one X is one of if not the best smartphone out there and if you are looking for device that pretty much does it all, then look no further as the HTC One X is easily the device for you.
