HMV has officially entered administration and is currently look a buyer. The toll of Internet sales regarding music/films has taken it’s toll on the 92 year old store has finally come to fruition. The future of the 239 ships in the UK and 26 in Ireland will fall solely on the outcome of the administrators. HMV’s stock price has fallen around 90% since 2005 when it was at its highest point. Trading has of course stop with the stock price ending at £1.10. The future for HMV isn’t set in stone at this point, although other similar citations have shown the demise of popular brand retail stores, it’s still possible HMV will survive.
