An unlucky consumer has had the misfortune of his new Galaxy S3 catches fire and pretty much melting the entire bottom of the device including the back cover. It is unknown as to why this has happened, but user dillo2k10 of boards.ie(the unlucky one) has stated that this happened while the phone was in a car holder and was no plugged into any charging device. He also stated that the device continued to work after the initial ignition, but without any coverage.
He has since returned the device to the place of purchase, which happens to be Carphonewarehouse, to which they have sent it off to be checked, leaving him with no new device to play with.
