The HTC One Mini ban will commence on December 6th following judge Richard Arnold ruling this week. The Lawsuit from Nokia against HTC has been ongoing for some time now and the new ban will see the latest smartphone from HTC no longer available for sale in the UK, the One Mini if you weren’t sure. Nokia sought to include the HTC One in the ban but while judge Arnold concluded the HTC One has the same Microchips that violate the Nokia patent, he also stated that ‘banning the HTC One would have considerable damage against HTC’s UK business’ and is giving them time to appeal the ruling and since the HTC One Mini was only recently released, a sales ban wouldn’t have the same negative impact.
HTC released the following statement
“HTC is pleased by the decision of the High Court of England and Wales to stay an injunction against certain chipsets, including those in our flagship HTC One, pending the outcome of our appeal,” an HTC spokesman said. “Whilst the Court also granted an injunction that affects other third party chipsets, we have filed urgent application to appeal. In the meantime, we are working with our chip suppliers to explore alternative solutions. As always, HTC’s primary focus is on supporting our customers and ensuring minimal disruption to them and our business. Rest assured that our award winning HTC One handset will be available as usual.”
