Sony today at there press event announced the Xperia Z1 and with it a few accessories that will not only go hand in hand with the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 but pretty much any other high end smartphone out there. The QX10 and QX100 are attachable camera lens for smartphones to give you the ability to take much higher quality images with any smartphone instead of having a separate point and shoot or dslr camera.
The QX10 has an 18MP sensor that sports a 10x zoom with a focal length from 4.45 to 44.5 and utilizes Sony’s G Lens with optical image stabilization. The accessory can also be used as a camera without the need of a smartphone making a pretty small and impressive camera/accessory.
The Qx100 is the higher end accessory and includes all the same functionality as the Qx10 with higher DSLR like quality as stated by Sony. It uses a 20MP backlit Exmor R CMOS sensor with Carl Zeis Vario-Sonnar T Lens. It also has a short 3.6x optical zoom on top of the digital zoom.
The accessories are set to be available pretty much right away with a price tag of $249 for the Qx10 and $499 for the Qx100.
