The rumours and leaks have been plentiful the past few weeks and months and finally the official announcement is here. The latest and arguably the greatest drones from DJI are now avaialble.
We aren’t just getting one new drone but 2, and while they have a lot of similarities with regarding to flying capabilities, duration and sensors. The main differences are the cameras that these new aerial devices will include.
Before we discuss the photo/video taking capabilities. Let’s talk about the main new features for the Mavic Pro 2 and Mavic 2 Zoom. First up we get a 10-percent increase in the top speed (40>44MPH). 10 sensors for 360 degree obstacle avoidance, this also includes obstacles above and below the drone ( one of the more requested feature updates for the new drone)
One of the key features for the Mavic Pro was the Active Trak mode, which had the drone follow the person automatically. The new sensors along with the upgraded APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance System) should allow for better obstacle avoidance when using this mode, and it manual flight.
DJi have also included a landing light that will aid in low light situations. OcuSync 2 is on-board and will use both 2.4GHz/5.8GHz and allow 1080p video transmission all the way up to 5 miles. There is also now 8GB’s of onboard storage as well.
The Camera’s
