The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge launched a few months back and one of the more important accessories and questions that get asked are ‘What cover should I buy’.

Spigen were kind enough to send us their popular Rugged Armour case for the Galax S7 Edge for us to take a look at. So let’s do exactly that.

The cover is made using the common TPU material (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), which makes for a soft and flexible cover.

The design is made using a single layer of TPU but also includes what Spigen are calling Air Cushion Technology, which is aimed at protecting the device from small drops.

The design features cut outs at the top and bottom of the cover on the back, which have a sort of carbon look to them. Spigen also include a some extra thickness around the camera lens to prevent damage in that area, which is good, because camera lens cracks are becoming more common lately.

Conclusion

The Rugged Armour from Spigen is a great way to give your Galaxy S7 edge a decent level of protection. While protecting all sides and the back of the device, it’s still slim enough not to add any real bulk to the device.

The buttons are solid and don’t prevent any responses. Also importantly, the cover is very easy to remove should you wish to access the sim slot/MicroSD slots or throw your smartphone into the Gear VR.

The design is the only lacking aspect, with a mostly plain look and carbon style cut-outs being seemingly random additions. However, thankfully that’s better than the plain look we would have without them, but none the less, the design is odd.

The cover is also priced very well and only costs £9.99. It would have been nice to see other colours available, but Black is a safe bet none the less. Spigen do have a good few other covers avaialble will many colours to choose from.

The style might not be for everyone, but the Rugged armour offers decent protection, looks okay, and has a great price, so we have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for a simple and elegant cover for some protection.
