PCMark8 is more general when it comes to benchmarking; ituses actual programs and tasks for its testing purposes. Here we can see the MSI board taking the lead again with some of the stock results. The OC sides with the RVE pretty largely on the Home tests. However, the MSI takes the lead with Adobe results and matches it with the Creative tests. Overall, the MSI board is seriously impressive compared to the RVE. Keep in mind the MSI board is half the price of the RVE. A quick note is the 4770k and MSI X97 Gaming 9 AC taking the lead with the Adobe results.
While 3DMark isn’t affected o much by a motherboard when working with a single card. Here is a quick look at some graphics performance on the MSI board using an MSI R9 290X.
