Intel 5960X Sandra Processor Arithmetic Chart

Even within Sandra we can see the 5960x at stock beat everything across the board, only to be beaten by itself when overclocked. A quick thing  to note is the massive jump on Dhrystone score the overclock has provided. Both the 4770k and 3960x see small jumps with their overclocks, but the 5960x jumps over 100 points. It’s really taken advntage of the increase clock speed on each core.

Besides the obvious victory for the 5960x and how it again beats the 3960x OC and 4770k OC results with its own stock results. The interesting thing here is seeing how well the Haswell Architecture plays against the older Sandy Bridge Extreme chip. For multi-media tasks it simply performs better. Those same advacnments have been carried over to Haswell-E and we can clearly see how much better that processor is than its siblings.

Again, we can see the Haswell stuff beat the older Sandy Bridge Extreme chip with all but one test. The results still aren’t even close to touching the 5960x even at stock.

On paper, these are the exact results you would expect from each of these chips. The 596×0 again taking the lead across the chart.

We can see the 5960X reaping the benefits of the new DDR4 platform. The 3960x still performs well, but again, it just can’t keep up with the 5960x.
