Microsoft announce Nokia 215, $29 internet-ready phone

Microsoft have just announced their cheapest feature phone yet. The Nokia 215 will included access to basic social networking with the likes of Facebook, which includes instant messaging, Twitter, Bing Search, and others are all pre-installed on the device as well. The main focus on this device is being as cheap as possible with the cost just $29 before taxes. The device is being dubbed an internet-ready entry-level phone for first time mobile users or just for a spare device.

Specs for the device include a 2.4-inch display with 320 x 240 resolution, a 0.3MP camera, MP3 player, LED torch, and FM Radio. Standby time is also rated for up to 29 days. There is also the Dual-sim version, which includes the same specs as the standard model. Availabiliy is set for by the end of this quarter with the phone launching first in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
