Review: Asus 3GB 7970 DirectCUII graphics card

Benchmarks(Overclocked+temperature results)

Now we are going to run through more benchmarks with are overclock set at 1125MHz and 6300MHz.

3DMark 11

So now that we have our overclock, we are going to run through 3D Mark 11 again and see what the results are like this time around.

So both the P and X scores have seen increases. First up the P Score saw an increase in 700 points with the overclock and the X score saw and increase of over 250 points.

Now any card can overclock. the main thing so that the temps stay down or at least don’t get to high. So let’s check out how the temps were during the benchmark.

The results are amazing and the cooler on this card is just insane. The temps of the GPU didn’t go over 65 degrees and the VRM temps didn’t go over 69 degrees. The best part is that the fan didn’t increase beyond 20 percent during the benchmarks and pretty much stayed silent the entire time. Since this is a triple slot card, this is exactly how it should be, essentially you are getting the performance you would expect from an overclocked 7970 with the added bonus of silence and low temps.

3DMark Vantage

Continuing with the overclock set at 1125MHz and 6300MHz we are going to check out some numbers using 3DMark Vantage.

We will take a look at the P Score first and we are getting some very impressive results and the X score again gives us a nice results it seems the card is very consistent with its benchmarks. Also the fact this card stays near silent even with a decent overclock.
